Job Summary

The HR Manager directs and works with Human Resources and Operations employees
to carry out the daily activities of the Human Resource Office including
oversight of recruitment| total compensation| training and development|
association/labor relations| and performance management. Additionally| the HR
Manager focuses on delivering HR services that meet or exceed the needs of
employees and enable business success; as well as ensures compliance with all
applicable laws| regulations and operating procedures.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for this role would have Pre-Opening experiences in resort
and Luxury band hotels. Maldives experiences will be highly preferred. As
location is remote| candidate is preferred to be able to relocate on single

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the human resources|

• Assists in maintaining effective employee communication channels in the
property (e.g.| develops daily communications and assists with regularly
scheduled property-wide meetings).

• Reviews progressive discipline documentation for accuracy and consistency|
and checks for supportive documentation and is accountable for determining

• Utilizes an “open door” policy to acknowledge employee problems or concerns
in a timely manner

• Ensures employee issues are referred to the Department Manager for
resolution or escalated to the Director of Human Resources/Multi-Property

Managing Legal and Compliance Practices

• Ensures employee files contain required employment paperwork| proper
performance management and compensation documentation| are properly maintained

employee files and ensure compliance with the Privacy Act.

• Ensures medical records are maintained in a separate| secure and
confidential medical file.

• Facilitates random| reasonable belief and post accident drug testing process

• Ensures all safety and security policies (e.g.| property removal| lost and
found items| blood borne pathogens| accident reporting| and hygiene) are

• Conducts periodic claims reviews with Regional Claims office to ensure
claims are closed in a timely manner and reserve levels are appropriate for
open claims.

• Represents Human Resources at the property Safety Committee; helps to
identify ways to create awareness of the importance of safety in the workplace

• Manages Workers Compensation claims to ensure appropriate employee care and
manage costs.

As a member of the Project Pearl Team| the Manager Training & Communications
will work closely with the project team and other stakeholders to ensure all
stakeholders are prepared| knowledgeable and motivated for the changes
resulting from Project Pearl including the implementation of Birchstreet Gold
Standard. He / she will be primarily focused on supporting the communications
requirements to include the development and execution of the communications
approach and plan to enable the successful execution and adoption of

the design and delivery of other change management programs / actions and will
lead the User Provisioning efforts.

Project will require careful planning and coordination with the Finance teams
of the impacted hotels along with the Area and Continent teams and other
Marriott finance stakeholders. Planning| executing and following up on all of
the communications with these various groups will be a key component of
successfully delivering the project.

BUSINESS CONTEXT

Project Pearl is focused on financial applications and transitioning all
APAC managed hotel (and entity) accounting to Marriott’s global standard
PeopleSoft financial applications as well as Birchstreet Gold Standard
Procurement Systems Project Pearl and Gold Standard will be implemented in
multiple waves across the next 12 – 24 months encompassing approximately 650
managed hotels across 15 countries.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Communications & Training Management

Under the direction of Program Lead| define and manage the overall communications strategy and plan for Project Pearl focusing on Birchstreet Gold Standard which creates and sustains a positive presence for PeopleSoft and Birchstreet Gold Standard across all stakeholders and ensures they are appropriately informed and engaged.

Create| plan and execute every aspect of communication plans to effectively disseminate key project messages| planned activities and task lists as well as training opportunities and material

Develop accurate and timely project communications according to key milestones and deliverables of communications plan.

Coordinate delivery of project communications| leveraging existing media and| when appropriate| recommending and executing the design / development of additional media to achieve communications objectives.

Lead development of Birchstreet Gold Standard pages within The MGS Platform and provide for appropriate posting of information.

Develop standards| templates and a process for all project communications

Create and maintain program communication library and key messages.

Support development and delivery of presentations and tools for AP sponsorship network (Executive Sponsors| Steering Committee| Change Champions| etc.) to ensure overall organizational alignment.

Contribute to the development of executive communications for AP’s Steering Committee / Advisory Board (to be defined).

Identify and design methods to measure the effectiveness of communications| set targets| track results and communicate improvements.

Work collaboratively with a variety of key stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization to ensure alignment and consistency with broader organizational communication efforts.

Provide logistics support and communications consultation to a variety of project sub-teams and advisory groups.

User Provisioning

Develop template to capture all new application users and define access requirements.

Submit requests to enable correct and timely user access to Birchstreet – and applicable PeopleSoft applications.

(Support required AP and Expense Report Approvers to complete AP Operator Preferences and submit online Disbursement Authorization Form (DASF / MIP 67) prior to Go Live.)

Project Management / Support

Develop and manage to a detailed communications work plan with identified deliverables and dates.

Update progress on communication tasks on the weekly status report and meeting.

Help to drive stakeholder engagement| leadership alignment| impact analysis| learning / training| business readiness| deployment and adoption measurement.

Assist with the development / update of learning content and related business process documentation as required.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Lead and Pearl Project Lead.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience

Five years communications development and execution experience.

Prior experience managing and / or supporting large-scale project communication efforts preferred.

Experience in relationship management with other key stakeholders.

Lodging / hospitality experience a plus; Marriott or Starwood specific experience highly desirable.

Accounting – and Purchasing Systems experience

Project management experience

Capacity of data analytics

Education or Certification
